The Vitae programme
Vitae is a national organisation committed to enhancing the quality and output of the research base in the United Kingdom, through supporting the training and development of the next generation of world-class researchers.
To achieve our vision we have four main aims, which are to:
- champion the development and implementation of effective policy
- enhance higher education provision through sharing practice and resources
- provide access to development opportunities and resources
- build an evidence base to support the researcher development agenda.
The Researcher Development Framework (RDF)
The RDF is a tool developed by Vitae to support researchers in planning their career development. All research staff development at Leeds is mapped to one of the four RDF domains.
Vitae organise a variety of courses for research staff development ranging from skills sessions to career planning, including for example the effective researcher programme. To find out what courses are available and to book a place visit their research staff pages.
Vitae has a network of regional hubs which support the region's Higher Education Institutions. The regional advisor for Yorkshire and North East Hub is based at Leeds (Dr Tony Bromley). For more information about the Hub please go to Yorkshire and North East Hub or contact the Hub Manager Joanne Warner.
