Welcome to the resources page for professional and career development.  If you would like to think about next steps in your career, or develop your professional skills in your current role, we hope you find the resources useful.

You can access details of courses and resources to support professional and career development by using the tabs on the left hand side.  If you would like to develop generic skills and behaviours, such as working with people and delivering an excellent service, you may find it helpful to use the Professional Behaviours Framework below to focus your search.

The Professional Behaviours Framework, which was developed by the AUA, offers a broad structure within which individual members of staff can identify their personal continuing professional development (CPD) needs and plan their development accordingly.  This can be a useful activity when preparing for the annual SRDS and when applying for promotion or for roles within or outside of the University. The framework builds on best practice in the HE sector and elsewhere and draws on National Occupational Standards to provide a clear steer on key and valued behaviours linked to the AUA’s Code of Professional Standards. The framework complements the UK Professional Standards Framework for teaching and supporting learning in HE. Further guidance on using the Framework can be accessed under the graphic.

Clicking on the graphic will show current provision grouped by the areas of the Framework.
