Enhancing the Research Performance and Employability of Researchers
To enable the achievement of an influential world-leading University research profile, The Graduate Training and Support Centre (part of SDDU) supports the development of research skills and research careers by contributing the research student component of the continuum of courses offered by SDDU spanning research students, postdoctoral research staff, early career academic staff and senior staff with research management and leadership responsibilities. These courses, some of which are tailored to suit different disciplines, cover:
- Research methodology and ethics
- Managing your research degree
- Attracting research income
- Planning and managing research
- Presenting and publishing research
- Supervising research students
- Research career development.
The University of Leeds offers a wide range of training and development opportunities for research students, through Faculties and specialist provision from services across campus. The activity of the Graduate Training and Support Centre (GTSC) of SDDU is covered by this website. Activity in GTSC is designed:
'To enable research students to develop their Research Performance, Employability, Professionalism and Engagement with Society'
and is open to all postgraduate research students at the university. GTSC training and development staff are experienced, published researchers, who hold PhDs and are also experienced in learning and teaching. GTSC has a record of excellence with innovative training and development opportunities that consistently receive outstanding feedback from participants. We are always looking to improve our provision and welcome feedback and comment from staff and research students
