University of Leeds Research Staff Association
The University of Leeds is currently developing a range of initiatives to support early-career researchers. This includes the roll out of the new package of training opportunities designed for Research Staff.
We are starting the University of Leeds Research Staff Association, bringing together researchers from across the University to share ideas, build networks and develop future activities.
Are you currently a member of Research Staff? Do you have an interest in Research Staff support or for creating a voice to tackle Research Staff issues? Do you want more social opportunities for Researchers? If so you need to get involved in the University of Leeds Research Staff Association!
We are looking for enthusiastic people who can give a few hours a month to help create and launch the RSA.
What is ResearchStaff@Leeds?
A group designed to represent the views and experiences of researchers and organise social events. A group formed from Research Staff to represent Research Staff. Help to increase the profile of Research Staff issues at Leeds. Provide input on training, induction, career support and mentoring. Our Research Staff are spread across multiple sites and often find themselves isolated from other researchers; this group will form a community to bring people together. We want to work together to improve the Research Staff experience here at Leeds.
Why should you join?
This is a chance for you to be heard, to be involved from the start. Be proactive over the important issues you face in your role. From a personal point being involved in the RSA will broaden your career outlook and provide important skills for your CV including time management, teamwork, communication and event organisation. RSA membership will provide you with the chance to raise your profile and make a real difference to the research experience.
How do you get involved?
We realise getting involved will take up your time when you are already juggling the demands of a research project. So we are arranging an initial meeting to explain about the RSA in more detail and to start forming a committee. We are hoping to get representatives from all nine faculties!! If you are interested and can spare a few hours a month then email Emma, come along and show your interest.
Details of the association will be launched at an informational session on Tuesday 22nd March 2016 from 1.30. To register your interest and to attend the meeting please email Emma.
