Researcher Surveys

Every two years the University offers researchers the chance to participate in two national, online surveys. Researchers are encouraged to give their views about their career experiences and development at Leeds.

These pages will be updated with the actions and changes that are occuring in response to the two reports. Outcomes and major discussion points from the open meetings will be available here once they have run.

CROS logoCareers in Research Online Survey (CROS)

This survey gathers the anonymous views of research staff in UK higher education institutions about their experiences, career aspirations and career development opportunities. The survey runs every two years and is divided into six categories, including ‘Recognition and Value’ and ‘Support and Career Development’. Principal Investigators and Research Leaders Survey (PIRLS)

This gathers anonymous views and experiences from principal investigators in relation to their role as managers and leaders of researchers and research groups. The survey runs every two years. The report findings and recommendations for the 2013 PIRLS survey can be found here.


Action in Response to the CROS and PIRLS Surveys of Research Staff and Principal Investigators

Responses to the outcomes of both surveys has led to the development of an action plan for discussion. One route of discussion is via the CROS and PIRLS open meetings.


Working at Leeds
